Get your camera, get out and about

Here's a fine project: Geograph British Isles. The aim of the game is to have a photograph of every single OS map grid square of the British Isles. Think of it as bringing the map to life, of being able to look at a map location, and see a picture of the road, with the houses on each side, or the airport, or the beach, or the bridge, and so on. I think it's great.
